Modulating toll rates is a way to improve traffic flow: advancing or delaying your passage time allows you to travel more easily on the A1 and A14 towards Paris while benefiting from advantageous rates!

Motorways A1 and A14: how is the toll rate modulation applied?

On weekends on the A1 motorway, switch to the green toll rate – faster and cheaper!

On Sundays or public holidays (or some public holidays on Tuesdays), the best time to return to Paris via the A1 is between 2:30 pm and 4:30 pm or between 8:30 pm and 11:30 pm*. In addition to avoiding traffic jams on the way back, you'll benefit from a 25% discount on your journey! This is the green toll rate.

Conversely, be aware that the toll rate is increased by 25% if you pass through the toll plaza between 4:30 pm and 8:30 pm! This is the red toll rate.

To ensure that the reduction or surcharge is applied as fairly and without any possibility of dispute, the exact start and end times of the toll period are taken into account.

For example:

  • You arrive at the Chamant toll plaza on a Sunday at 4:29:59 PM: you pay the "green" rate, reduced by 25%. If you arrive at 4:30:45 PM, you will be charged the "red" rate, with a 25% surcharge.
  • If you arrive at the Senlis-Bonsecours toll plaza on a Sunday at 8:29:59 PM, you will pay the 25% surcharge. If you pass through at 8:30:01 PM, you will benefit from the green rate, with a 25% discount.
