Les Portes du possible. Art & science-fiction

From 5 November 2022 to 10 April 2023, the Centre Pompidou-Metz presents an ambitious exhibition of science-fiction and its possible futures.

Science-fiction is the art of the possible.

The American writer Ray Bradbury said "Science fiction is the art of the possible". Under the guise of anticipation, it speaks to us of the present. Sci-fi is a laboratory of hypotheses that explores the present world, its ambitions, its opportunities and its perils. Bringing together over 200 works from the 1960s to the present day in the Grande Nef and Gallery 3 of the Centre Pompidou-Metz, the exhibition invites us into a physical immersion through five different themes, like so many possible futures.

With the work of artists, writers, but also architects and filmmakers, the exhibition aims to provoke debate, inspiration and hope for the future.
